Surah Al-Maa'un

(سورة المَاعُونِ)

Surah 107 • Category: Meccan • Verses: 7

اَرَءَيۡتَ الَّذِىۡ يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّيۡنِؕ

English Translation

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِىۡ يَدُعُّ الۡيَتِيۡمَۙ

English Translation

For that is the one who drives away the orphan

وَ لَا يَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الۡمِسۡكِيۡنِؕ

English Translation

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

فَوَيۡلٌ لِّلۡمُصَلِّيۡنَۙ

English Translation

So woe to those who pray

الَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ عَنۡ صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُوۡنَۙ

English Translation

[But] who are heedless of their prayer -

الَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُوۡنَۙ

English Translation

Those who make show [of their deeds]

وَيَمۡنَعُوۡنَ الۡمَاعُوۡنَ ۧ

English Translation

And withhold [simple] assistance.
